I knew there was going to be a catch
Picking up the visa from the consulate was wayyy too easy--I just went in there, they handed it to me, I left. Definitely displaying signs of zombie possession. But now, a few hours later, I just opened it again and noticed something that, of course, I hadn't seen in...
T-minus a bit of time
Very little to report, really. I'm leaving for eretz hakodesh in less than a week, and in the meantime just visiting with a few loved ones and trying to eat as much of the food-that-I-can-eat-here-that's-harder-to-get-there as I can. There is a particular run on the...

Thanks to the fact that this last post has been quite linked-to, it seems that truckloads of new people have been stopping by. Welcome! I tend to update once or twice a week, feel free to check back as your goofing off time and interest warrants. On the ground things...
We Are Living in the Jetsons Era
It's like something out of a scifi story. Just listen to this NPR story on something called FabLab for the proof. I just can't wait 'till I get a car that folds up into a briefcase or, better yet, a cute little purse. *boggles* Happy Christmahanukaakwanzaamakalit to...
another semester sent to the glue factory
Today I am, in a manner of speaking, 70% rabbi. Only 3 more semesters and two very gnarly comprehensive Talmud exams to go. Plus the grace of God--and an awful lot of that. But today, anyway, I'm gonna go see the ocean.
