The Lego Bible people now have, among other things, Vayikra (Leviticus) and Devarim (Deuteronomy) online. So if you’ve been dying to see the Lego-illustrated version of the “Woman who is accused of having no proof of virginity” story or the laws of impurity vis a vis menstruation and seminal emission, you are now in luck.
Consider yourself as having been warned.
Uh, …”Instructions for Genocide“…? This guy doesn’t pull any punches….
Hmmm. Yeah, hadn’t seen that one. Ahem. When he does straight-up pshat illustrating, I often really enjoy it. Suffice to say, I don’t read the Lego Bible for his editorializing of my text. When I want editorials, I’ll go to Rashi, the Mea Shiloach, or whoever, thanks.
I’ve had Bilaam’s ass as a screensaver on my laptop for years. Slarskey used to have the Akedah, I think.
I’m without words as regards the Lego Bible… but I will delurk to say just one or two things.
Thing One: I really like reading your blog.
Thing Two: I liked your former template better.
Eventually, I’ll have to get a blogger account for all my comments, since this appears to be the place where all the cool Jews hang out.
Anyways, I just read your article in Bitch and loved it. I’m slowly working my way through your blog archives, and they are fascinating. I’ll have more to say in response to specific things in the future, I’m sure, but in the meantime, I wanted to say hello.
Yay, welcome! I look forward to hearing what you have to say….
Lovely to meet you! Yay for delurking!
You liked the other template better, really? Huh. I’ll have to think about that.
(I just noodled around and found this one, and it seemed so much more pleasing to the eye. But hey, this is kind of like communist fascism–I make the final decision, but am happy to consult with the collective about it. Um, that’s not what communist fascism was about, was it? Yeah, maybe not. But that’s the oligarchy of my blog, anyway.)
Thanks for the warning- I had been a fan of The Brick Testament; now that I’ve seen the “Rape” and “Incest” sections I feel very queasy and won’t be going back there in a hurry.
Yeah, I’ve stayed away from their versions of those stories because I know they won’t be funny at all to me, and I’m enjoying being able to enjoy some of the other parts…
